We stand as stewards of a rich legacy woven from the threads of history, culture, and resilience. As a Post Settlement Governance Entity for the Ahuriri Hapū, we embrace our responsibility to nurture and safeguard the assets entrusted to us.

Our purpose is clear: to receive, manage, hold, and administer assets on behalf of several hapū. These assets, rooted in the Ahuriri Deed of Settlement with the Crown, address historical grievances under the Treaty of Waitangi. We operate as a private entity, guided by the wisdom of our ancestors and the vision of our present and future generations.

Ahuriri Hapū have tended the ahi kā roa in Ahuriri for generations. Te Whanganui-ā-Orotu, the great estuary, lies at the heart of our existence and identity. Named after our ancestor Te Orotu, who traced his lineage back to the intrepid explorer Māhu Tapoanui, this sacred place connects us to our roots.
